Blackbird Organics

We strive to see our farm from a holistic perspective, with our food production and selves as part of the same ecosystem. Our mission is to produce as much healthy food as we can for our community while maintaining sustainability for the farmland and the people working it.  We utilize rotation, cover cropping, regionally sourced manure, mindful tillage practices, and our mobile flock of laying hens to keep the soil healthy and support thriving crops. As members of the Vermont Vegetable and Berry Growers association and NOFA-VT, we are constantly reviewing and refining our systems in the endless pursuit of better farming. We organically certify our crops Through Vermont Organic Farmers and with the Real Organic Project.

Our farm is conserved through the Vermont Land Trust, which ensures that this land will stay in agricultural in perpetuity. To learn more about VLT and the role they played in our farmland access journey check out this article and their website: Marshfield Farmers Find Land and a Bountiful Future
